Outing

This year’s Halloween Outing will bring you to a unique place with a marvelous view over the whole Prague. Hold onto your hats so you won’t lose them! This year’s Outing will take place at Vyšehrad fortress!

Starting point of the Outing will be in front of Prague's Congress Centre, near Entrance 3. 

We’ll start with a short walk alongside the Na Bučance street, which will lead us directly to the Tábor’s Gate, an entrance to Vyšehrad fortress.

Most of the Outing’s route will follow the fort’s rampasses. We’ll journey the Vyšehrad counter-clockwise, around the St. Martin rotunda and Na Hradbách restaurant, following the St. John’s church and the Gorlice viewpoint to our first refreshment point.

Next our direction will go towards the Štulcovy gardens, from which we’ll pass by the old and the new Provosthip and St. Peter and Paul basilica, heading straight to the Vyšehrad’s Gardens, where second refreshment point will be waiting for us, as well as another pause.

Next we’ll pass the Old Burgrave and follow the rampasses to the entrance to the Soběslavova street, where the third refreshment point will be waiting for you, and if circumstances allows us, a group photo as well.

From there we’ll just follow the Soběslavova street straight to the Tábor’s Gate and return back in front of the Congress Centre, where our journey ends.

This year’s innovation are fixed refreshment points, where our Water Carriers will wait for you to come to them. The water will not be following us around for the whole time, yet per urgent request, we will be able to secure water on call.

Dos and don’ts:

We are fully aware that you want to enjoy the Outing and yourself to its fullest. We kindly ask you though, always remember that you are in a public area, so keep your behaviour and noise levels on a reasonable level. Don’t divert from the Outing’s route, don’t enter various businesses alongside the route in your Fursuit, try to care about your surroundings and most importantly, always respect the instructions of the Orgateam and Helper’s team.

If you are carrying a speaker, try to keep its volume on a reasonable level. If there are multiple people with speakers around you, do not try to overpower their music.

Do not lean on or climb the rampasses. We cannot stress this out enough. It is completely fine if you want to take a picture with a beautiful Prague’s background. But in the Outing’s swarming, it is completely normal that someone will unintentionally bump into you, so leaning over or even climbing the rampasses is a really bad idea. The journey straight down is long and full of thorns. Please, follow your self-preservation instincts and Organizers and Helpers instructions.

Don’t walk on the grass unless absolutely necessary. Do not step into flower beds or ornamental flowers under any circumstances. Don’t damage your surroundings and nature.

Entering the cemetery, places of worship, ornamental gardens, churches and most importantly the basilica is strictly prohibited.

Refusing to follow the Organizers and Helpers instructions will lead to you being left behind for the wild Prague’s predators.

When do we start?

Outing will begin at 13:00 in front of Prague's Congress Centre. Be on time, the Outing cannot wait for anyone! The whole journey won’t take longer than three hours in total. 

What’s the Route?

Most of the Outing will lead through the Vyšehrad historical monument. The Outing is a little bit over 2,5 km long and will overcome a total elevation of 50 meters.

And how to get there?

Metro station Vyšehrad =C= is located right next to Prague’s Congress Centre, leaving the journey on foot to the Outing’s starting place for less than two minutes.

Prague’s Congress Centre has enormous parking garages on and under ground. It is also possible to park your vehicle in nearby streets, either in purple zone (free on weekends) or in blue zone (paid).
